We Already Have Everything
Posted: January 27, 2012 Filed under: Saya 1 Comment »I read an article somewhere sometime, said that we already have everything, when we were a kid.
We had eagerness — It is still clear in my mind when my mom repeated story about how i tried hard to pronounce the word “R” before i started my Elementary School. We had curiosity — i believe we all asked multitudinous questions to everyone we met when we were young. We forgave people’s mistakes easily, saw everybody as nice persons, dared to face risks, creatively found ways to fulfill what we want (Hahaha, i remembered how my lil’ brothers took a broom to reach our tv’s channel button, tried to change the channel into his favorite one. And of course, made my mom yelled). You can name all the good characters in the world, we already have them when we were a kid.
We just have to remember.

I said those words at the sharing session to the young entrepreneurs in Bandung this afternoon. And at the same time to myself.
It’s been 25 years!
Saya Suka Iklan Air Asia!

But anyway, i love the commercial.
Be a Brahmins!

1. Sociology .
a. an endogamous and hereditary social group limited to persons of the same rank, occupation, economic position, etc., and having mores distinguishing it from other such groups.
b. any rigid system of social distinctions.
2. Hinduism . any of the social divisions into which Hindu society is traditionally divided, each caste having its own privileges and limitations, transferred by inheritance from one generation to the next; jati.
3. any class or group of society sharing common cultural features: low caste; high caste.
One day, i noticed @sudjiwotedjo, tweeted about Caste. Caste of people. I didn’t remember exactly the tweet, but roughly it said like this: “It is so wrong to chose people with Shudras behaviors to lead us in DPR. Shudras can only think about their own needs.” And then about two days ago, my friend Dend and i talked about this tweet. In the sleeplessness and night-time wandering Bali around, we discussed about the Caste. Dend told me, in Balinese caste system, we can not choose in what caste we belong to. Caste is inherited from our ancestors, our parents. But in terms of reincarnation, it is also said that a Brahmin can be born in the house of a Shudra and vice-versa.
Shudras usually only can think how to provide themselves with basic needs. Vaishyas, most of them are traders, they can think about their small group. Kshatriyas – the warrior caste, it also included some nobility and kings. Kshatriyas think (and would sacrifice) for people (usually in a huge number). And the highest caste is Brahmins – holy men and priests, a true leader.
The discussion itself remained fun. I have no problem about what caste i’m belong to. I really don’t care. I believe we all can have behaviors like Kshatriyas or even Brahmins, if we really want to. I don’t think it is hard to do good things for others, to care people (especially the ones we love), and be a good leader (at least for ourselves, aye?). Everybody could learn and do those behaviors. Everybody.
Anyway, Budh and I were cooking today! We’ve got Echa, Ade, Adi, and Hafiz also to help us. Hehe, after Bali madness, i’m soooo fallin in love with sambal matah. Thanks to Dend‘s mom, she got me a bottle of Minyak Kelapa for the ingredient. Yeay!
Kudos Budh for the photos!
